There is no need to rush through this part of Istria. Begin with a short walk through Oprtalj, then let the roads unfold into woods, vineyards and neighbouring hamlets. Each turn reveals an unexpected view.
The Parenzana follows the route of a former narrow-gauge railway. Near Oprtalj, viaducts and tunnels recall its engineering past. Check trail conditions and choose a section suited to your experience.
